Collide

The dawn is breaking
A light shining through
You're barely waking
And I'm tangled up in you
Yeah
But I'm open, you're closed
Where I follow, you'll go
I worry I won't see your face
Light up again
Even the best fall down sometimes
Even the wrong words seem to rhyme
Out of the doubt that fills my mind
I somehow find, you and I collide
I'm quiet, you know
You make a first impression
I've found I'm scared to know
I'm always on your mind
Even the best fall down sometimes
Even the stars refuse to shine
Out of the back you fall in time
You somehow find, you and I collide
Don't stop here
I've lost my place
I'm close behind
Even the best fall down sometimes
Even the wrong words seem to rhyme
Out of the doubt that fills your mind
You finally find, you and I collide
You finally find
You and I collide
You finally find
You and I collide

i posted the lyrics to this song earlier without adding anything, and i realized i must be cheating on my audience, if not myself. However, there comes a song once in a while that sometimes expresses what you feel. that's the genius of songwriting/poetry. and the author's intentions doesn't really matter compared to how you can relate.

speaking of collide, i suffered a nasty shoulder injury playing basketball last saturday. yep, it was a collision. i wasn't even aware of the mishap until i found myself sprawled on the floor. i thought at first that my pride was hurt more, as prior to the collision, i lost the ball on inbounds and went smack into the opponent. This happened during a crucial part of the 4th quarter. needless to say, i was yanked out, cursing myself, and then i felt the real pain soon after.

all in all, it was a great game for us as we won but a lousy one for me. i kept hitting my shots during warmups but was ice cold the entire game (i only came in the fourth quarter).

i probably was distracted about something that i shouldn't even pay the smallest attention. and it got to me the whole weekend, even after applying an ice pack to my shoulder.

moral of the story?

hate the game, not the player.
but if you insist, get in the game with all your heart.
and if everything else still fails, it's game over.
and just plain walk away...

even the best do fall sometimes.
