Here we go

it's been a while since my last post, even though there are far great things that have happened since.

I know documenting things are pretty much a good thing, but i guess i'm far too involved with my own life to stop and take a breather and write everything down. I'm probably too busy savoring these moments.

Or maybe it's because i spend every free time trying desperately to:
a. finish the goddamn Pillar of Osiris medium level at Luxor
b. have my Legend of Zelda disc work on the Wii.
c. fix the crashed external drive full of my pics, music files, poems, and PSP games.

at any rate, i've been given a new assignment, one that involves a new office, and a chance to travel and get to know the real country - not just the tourist traps. And i get to interact with all sorts of characters known to society.

Of course, i didn't like the idea of moving at first. New location, new job, new things to do. I chafe at the thought of adjusting once again, but upon hindsight i guess this was the next logical step. I made a little impact covering beer events for internal consumption, now i guess my bosses i'm ready to face the outside world of external stakeholders.
Add to that the home-style warmness of my new officemates and an office i could really call my own (yet i still wear headphones) and i got something good going on.

Let's see what happens shall we?

prologue: I hedged against writing this entry but i guess transparency won over everything else. If i continued writing about just the good things, it wouldn't make much sense 10 years from now, as any offspring might see this and conclude that was a cheery person my entire life. --- We lost a game we should have won last night by 3 points. Led the entire game except the last 2 minutes. And what's worse, i spent the whole game chained to the bench. I do realize i may not be as good as the rest of the players, but i try to do my share whenever asked. I really felt bad knowing i could have helped one way or the other, but i guess the coach was afraid i'd do more harm than good. Day Two: Diary of a Starfish

i hate Holy Week. Talk about invasion of privacy. What's so holy about that? One week a year and tourists go ape shit. I wish to God they'd be content to watch you in your natural habitat. But nooo. They pick you up, turn you around, and take stupid videos of you doing what comes naturally. Here i am, minding my own fucking business -- mind you, the harmless business of burying myself halfway in the sand, and feeding on plankton. For God's sake, plankton! microscopic organisms nobody would miss. And i do my part in keeping the ocean clean. Then these bastards come in droves during Holy Week. They crowd the shores, and they have the nerve to pick on wildlife. Harmless fucking wildlife that survived millions of years of evolution, only to be picked up by a 30-year old in an outdated Kings jersey for the sole reason he doesn't know what starfish do when they flip over. Pass it on

Spent the last few weeks reading and rereading a 2004 year end issue of Esquire magazine, which I pilfered from one of the production outfits I've had the pleasure of working with. Talk about gratitude... Esquire surprisingly came not just as an easy read but a very very good one as well. The topics were a bit off center and the writers, well... they were gods in my eyes. How do you explain the story of a 42 year old dad setting up his apartment into an X-Box center and letting his kids practice until they're ready to face some real full-time gamers. And he did bring them to their headquarters - the Order of Light over at Memphis. Whether you're dad the writer, or the sons out to meet some role models, how much cooler can that get? Which brings me to my topic: will I make a great dad if ever? Spare me the pyschobabble bullshit about being a son of my father and that good traits and bad get passed on generations.
